Living off-the-grid is in Grant’s DNA and his home is testament to that. Constructed from two 40ft shipping containers, his rustic home is innovative off-grid living at it’s best. It took a lot of hard work to get to where he is, but the result speaks for itself.
The home has been cleverly designed to maximise on living space. The twin shipping containers are separated with a large roof over the middle to create a central, undercover, outdoor living space complete with pizza oven, breakfast bar, dining table and outdoor lounger.
The twin shipping containers have been divided into one hosting the lounge, kitchen and spare bedroom and the other housing his bedroom, office, a large wardrobe and bathroom.
Grant’s home is a place where everything is multi-purpose and designed to be efficient while also making life comfortable. Despite the industrial nature of the home’s origins as shipping containers, he has also done a lot of work to improve the aesthetic, adding beautiful stone work, rustic timber elements and sub-tropical plants that make the house look truly at home set amongst the beautiful surrounding natural landscape.
Here, Grant is on a dream 10 acre property, with native bush, fresh water springs, and grazing for his animals. He has also added onto his home by using an additional two 40ft shipping containers to construct a large barn and workshop for himself. This really is the off-grid dream!
We hope you enjoy the full tour of this super cool off-grid container home.

Grant is a larger-than-life character who has worked hard to create a very special place to call home. We had such a great time filming this episode with him. His land is absolutely stunning and his home I think is testament to what can be created on a budget with perseverance and ingenuity. We hope you enjoy the tour! With Love, Bryce & Rasa
You need to buy land First not to go to bank for home loan, weldone 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
LOVE this place! Sara from South Africa🇿🇦
I hit $113k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started last month 2024. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject.
Paradise! ❤
Um… gorgeous!
I want to meet him
The stone on the outside is spectacular!
So Rasa is real !! Haven’t seen her in so long I was beginning to wonder.
I like quirky places & not so pristine.
Mistakes is how we learn. Great guy.
I love this
34 seconds in and I’m blown away already!! Wow and Wow…. As Bryce will say “I can’t wait to take a look inside”
Truly an innovative design. Loved the bathroom walls/flooring. He’s living HIS life. Good to see Rasa at the end too.
