After a Divorce, She Built This Incredible Tiny House and Reclaimed Her Life

After her divorce, Clare found herself in a place she never expected to be. With her children having left home, she made the brave decision to build a tiny house and create a new life on her own terms.

Over the next four years, Clare designed and built a tiny house that became far more than just a home. It was created as a sanctuary, a space that feels safe, personal, and deeply connected to her life story.

Throughout the tiny house, meaningful objects from her past have been carefully woven into the design. The kitchen bench was once the table where she changed her children’s nappies. A window from her grandmother’s home now sits proudly in the sleeping loft. These details give the home a warmth and character that can’t be replicated.

The design of this tiny house is incredibly clever. The space feels open and expansive, with skylights running through the centre and mirrors that reflect the sky above, making the home feel larger than it is. A bathtub tucked neatly beneath the sofa is one of those ideas that makes you stop and smile. Everywhere you look, there’s thoughtful design and smart use of space.

There is nothing tiny about what Clare has achieved here. This tiny house represents years of dedication, learning, and persistence. More than that, it became a way for her to rebuild her confidence and trust herself again. In creating this home, Clare rediscovered just how capable she really is.

We hope you enjoy the tour of this very beautiful DIY tiny home.

  1. We are so excited to be back with our first episode of 2026! It was great to have a short break but it’s even better to be back in the swing of making videos. We had a great time filming with Clare. She is such an inspiring woman and the home that she has crafted for herself is hands down one of the most beautiful tiny homes we’ve seen so far. Clare is a true fan of tiny homes and you can see just how much thought and effort she has poured into her home and all the super clever design features. I especially love that bath tub!!! We hope you enjoy the tour! Thanks for watching and supporting our channel! With Love, Bryce & Rasa

  2. It seems so rare to see standing Loft bedrooms, this is definitely the way I will do mine if I ever have time to build it 😅.

That bathtub though, that is a gamechanger!

  3. You designed it and built it all by yourself from scratch? Yes. How? With Andy the builder and a construction company. Apologies for the tealistic comment (I like the house) but there was quite a bit of fudging here.
