We have never seen anything quite like this before. Situated in the idyllic French countryside is a self-resilient homestead that’s in a league of it’s own. Built for an incredible budget, this home and the woman who constructed it are nothing short of incredible.
Marie is a geo-biologist and animal therapist, but that doesn’t even come close to describing this remarkable woman. Her talents have extended into all kinds of experimental building and amazing homesteading innovations on her journey to self-sufficiency and a life of freedom.
There is so much to say about her astonishing home that I’m not even going to try. You’ll have to watch the video and find out for yourself. This is definitely one you don’t want to miss!
We hope you enjoy the video. A huge thank-you to our French videographer Gabrielle for seeking out this amazing story for us to share with you and thank-you to Marie for inviting us into her one-of-a-kind home.

Marie is one incredible woman. What she has built for herself on this land is absolutely mind blowing! It’s so inspiring to see people like Marie who are so clearly following their passions in life and making things happen for themselves. I absolutely love her innovations on the land, the off-grid things she has built like the cool stoves, and how clever are those half-buried structures! That greenhouse is a dream! We hope you enjoy the tour of her amazing homestead! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! With Love, Bryce & Rasa & Our French Videographer Gabrielle!
Inspiring❤
I know a witch when I see one!! Where can I get more on this woman? Inspirational❤❤
Wow! What a woman! Marie is a great example of self sufficiency and living in love. I wonder if she homeschools as she moves often? What an amazing, calm and can-do mother. 👏👏🦋💖
What an inspiration she is!
What an amazingly creative woman!

10/25/2024 Excellent video here at ‘Living Big In A Tiny House’. Fans of Marie, might be able to help out the sister of a pet vet (graduate of the famous U.C. Davis School of Vet Science; she also volunteered with helping monkeys in Thailand, etc., she also worked as a school teacher). She and her sister bought the El Sobrante (not a typo!!!) Veterinarian Hospital. She was taking care of about 20 cats and trying to find good homes for them. Lisa Franc died last week. To honor her memory, her sister is trying to find good homes for her 20 cats. Ideally, it would be nice if someone could buy the long closed El Sobrante (not a typo!!!) Christian High School and name it after Lisa as a living memory, with 24/7 cat care, including spay, neuter, return or re home. Ideally, it would be nice to build a tiny home community for the cat care staff, in the front parking lot, full of beautiful redwoods. It needs a 7 foot ‘tire wall’ filled with sharp climbing rose bushes, etc., in order to help keep out the homeless and criminals. These 7 foot tire walls could be joined together with a screw gun and quickly filled with free horse manure, free shredded cedar or redwood tree cuttings (just Google ‘free mulch delivered free to my driveway’) and maybe some gravel, and a wide variety of wild flower seeds, avocado seeds to grow your own daily salad. There has been a homeless encampment behind the school that will have to be relocated and fenced in to prevent break ins. Video cameras will probably be needed about every 6 feet for safety, but they could also be used for recording hummingbirds, etc. Although this area has a pristine creek system (fill with daily garbage); horse ranch nearby at the end of Valley View Road at San Pablo Road; very steep hills everywhere which require vehicles designed to take ‘off road steep hills’ …this area does get gun fire, car racing, side shows, etc., which was probably upsetting for Lisa. Ideally, it would really improve Contra Costa County if homesteaders with horses, etc., like the above video, would network together and try to save the nature here as quickly as possible, before it gets ruined, like everywhere else. It is near Freeway 80 and Highway 4 so you can get around. It may have been better to keep Highway 4 the way it was, because widening it seems to just attract daily mass car races by people who don’t care about ‘hit and run’ victims, ‘side show’ victims, etc. Keep that in mind when the politicians want to widen roads in order to gain votes, it will ruin your community. Ideally, the same skilled people above would buy the very old house for sale on Fleetwood (not a typo!!!) bordering the walkway called ‘Anne’s Path’ to use as another 24/7 Trap, Neuter, Return (or ideally, re home) by placing cat traps with food inside, steps away along ‘Anne’s Path’ every night. This is really needed all over Contra Costa County. The trapped cats need time before surgery to make sure that they do not eat food (choke risk during spay or neuter surgery) and the really old house next door would be perfect for the caged cats to rest with a dark blanket over their cage, after they are caught at the Ann’s Path, less than one minute away. Most people would prefer to not live right next door to a walking path, so this house would be ideal for experts dedicated to spay, neuter, release (or re home, as much as possible, in a nice tiny house community). About twenty years ago someone said that Contra Costa County had more horses than people. That is quickly changing so we need people like you to help save the nature, space for horses, dogs, cats. Please learn more about the area at ‘Keep El Sobrante Beautiful’ and the local creek care organization called ….(unique biology name for creek life, newts, deer, frogs, etc.) with an outdoor classroom near the football stadium (needs a cover to help people survive the frequent threat of smoke fires from nearby Chevron, etc.; noise pollution, etc., more athletes could use it 24/7 if it had walls and a roof). You probably won’t get any help (be prepared for the opposite) from the politicians of all sides, they are too busy with their own agenda. But if you attend meetings, it might help to dress formal and try to charm them with smiles and thanks. All sides might welcome more fenced in (like a tennis court) dog parks for dogs to run around off leash, inside high rise apartment or empty, under used office buildings all over the USA, especially in San Francisco and Oakland. You need police guards in every city here or else get shot, like that famous football player signing autographs in Union Square. Thanks in Advance and Have a Great Day, As Much As Possible
