VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Drew and Maddie knew they didn’t want to be stuck in an apartment forever. After losing their jobs during COVID, they took the leap into building their own DIY tiny home from the ground up—and today, they’re sharing every detail of their journey.
This 28-foot-long by 8-foot-wide handcrafted tiny home proves that with determination, creativity, and a little confidence, anyone can design a space that feels both functional and inspiring. From the kitchen to the lofts, every inch was designed with intentional living in mind.
🏡 Inside Their DIY Tiny Home:
-Custom Kitchen: Butcher block counters, a retro mint propane stove, Spanish tile backsplash, and open shelving for a bright, spacious feel.
-Dining & Living Space: Floating butcher block dining table, Pottery Barn sectional with hidden storage, and a cozy movie-ready living room with a huge window.
-Lofts: A queen-size bedroom loft with added storage, plus a creative “reading loft” turned writing space.
-Bathroom: Composting toilet, corner sink, spa-style shower with Spanish tile, and a washer/dryer combo—all designed for minimal footprint living.
-Exterior: Cabin-inspired siding, cedar and metal details, and outdoor living spaces for dining and relaxing.
🔨 DIY Build & Budget:
-Built on a Trailer Made triple-axle trailer rated for 21,000 lbs
-Estimated weight: 15,000–16,000 lbs
-Build cost: $35k–40k, spread over three years for affordability
-Certified safe through Noah inspections, giving peace of mind for long-term living and community acceptance
🌱 Lifestyle & Philosophy:
-Downsized intentionally to escape high apartment costs
-Prioritized low-carbon living with propane appliances, no microwave, and composting toilet
-Designed every feature themselves—down to reclaimed wood shelving and a handmade antique mirror bathroom door
Created a home that balances minimalism, function, and personal style

非常温馨美丽的家😊
One of the best tiny homes I have seen. Love the layout and your colors!
I like that this tiny house looks like a cozy cabin inside and out.
Great layout, attractive sustainable design, with many extras for the price you paid. I love the catio!
This is the first time I’ve heard about NOAH.
I can see where this would be a way to move forward with City or Counties feeling
like there is some oversight. Certainly regarding safety. Which seems to be one
of the sticking points with allowing Tiny Homes in the communities. You have done
A lovely job with your home. Nicely Done
with the kitchen especially. 👍🏼 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love the oversized sink! Great idea for tiny living.
Wow!…humble and cosy..👍
You lost me at man bun..😢
Didn’t realize getting your bread shipped via hippy Amazon was carbon conscious but hey, why not!!
