VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
What happens when a tiny home designer who sells the dream of a simple life has to do it herself? For Kelly, a tiny home dealer and realtor, the process of downsizing her own family was surprisingly “traumatizing.”

In this incredibly honest and insightful tour, Kelly welcomes us into the beautiful 12-foot wide tiny home where she lives full-time with her husband and two teenagers. She shares the raw truth about the challenges of getting rid of 75% of their possessions and the one-year adjustment period it took to find their rhythm.

This tour is a masterclass for anyone seriously considering downsizing. Kelly provides expert-level advice on what truly matters when designing a tiny home for a family, from her #1 non-negotiable feature for full-time living (a huge pantry!) to the clever ways she’s adapted a “secondary home” design to fit her family’s everyday needs.

  1. I love your design and organization of your tiny home. I would love to work with you, but I can not afford 120000. My 1st cabin i purchased was 89,900. And working full time + OT I barely afforded that. Now im 64 and on full disability and a very small retirement from my school bus driving position and my full income is 2000. per month. Even tho I live off grid right now and don’t pay any rent, I am still struggling to survive mo to mo. Plus I don’t want to leave my hometown or this property. So, is there any way with landlords permission and possibly his help with financing, would you be able to help? I’m in Mid California in the foothills just below the Sierras. Thank you for your time reading my long message. 😅

  2. i feel kinda bad for the kids not being able to stand upright in their bedrooms and not really having much privacy, especially the daughter’s room. but otherwise this is a really appealing setup, especially with the view.

  3. This is a beautiful tiny home and the calming colors, wood and decor, especially the art work, fits my style. And, the view of the lake! I do want to say one thing about the son’s room – I loved it! As soon as the camera panned on it, my first thought was it looked so warm and cozy!
