VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

For those seeking inspiration for downsizing into a cozy and organized tiny home, Dragonfly Cottage offers the perfect example. Nestled in the stunning mountains of North Carolina, this 399-square-foot home was thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort, functionality, and a touch of luxury. Eddie and Sonya built this tiny retreat to embrace a simpler lifestyle and create a getaway they could enjoy part-time.

The Inspiration Behind Dragonfly Cottage
Eddie and Sonya chose tiny living for its organization, efficiency, and affordability. After discovering a retired Christmas tree farm with breathtaking views, they knew it was the ideal spot to build their tiny home. With the help of Timbercraft Tiny Homes, the couple customized their design to reflect their personal style and needs.

A Tour of Dragonfly Cottage

The Kitchen
The kitchen is Eddie’s favorite space, blending practicality and charm. The couple worked with
Timbercraft to customize the layout and include:
Cabinet fronts on the refrigerator and dishwasher for a streamlined look.
A full-size range to replace the cooktop.
Warm butcher block countertops.
Vaulted ceilings with skylights for a bright, open feel.
A foldable counter for additional workspace or dining.
The pantry provides ample storage, while every element in the kitchen was designed for convenience and functionality.

The Living Room
The living room is where Eddie and Sonya relax after a day enjoying the outdoors. They’ve added:
Sliding glass doors for seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Custom shelving to display personal treasures.
Skylights that bring in natural light and fresh air.
With a cozy fireplace and plenty of windows, this space offers warmth and tranquility, making it one of their favorite rooms.

The Bathroom
Luxury meets efficiency in Dragonfly Cottage’s bathroom:
A custom tile shower with body sprays, a handheld showerhead, and a foldable bench.
A built-in steam system for ultimate relaxation on cold winter days.
Live-edge shelving for rustic charm.
A stacked washer-dryer combo for convenient laundry.
The bathroom’s design prioritizes functionality and comfort in a compact space.

The Bedroom
The main bedroom was carefully planned to optimize space and storage:
A king-size bed with built-in storage drawers beneath.
A custom pedestal for even more hidden storage.
Soft-closing nightstand drawers.
Foam-sprayed insulation to keep the space comfortable year-round.
Large windows and skylights ensure the bedroom remains bright and inviting, while the thoughtful layout allows easy movement around the bed.

The Loft
The loft space serves as a cozy retreat for guests or a private nook for quiet relaxation. It features:
A queen-size bed.
Shelving for storage.
A reading nook with scenic views from the skylights.
Despite its compact size, the loft is a serene and functional space.

Outdoor Living Areas
Dragonfly Cottage extends its living space into the outdoors with several inviting areas:
Covered Porch: Featuring a soaking tub, perfect for relaxing after a long day, and space for dining or morning coffee. The deck is 12’x75′
Outdoor Living Room: Complete with a 75-inch weather-protected TV, rocking chairs, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
Grilling Station: Located near the kitchen for effortless outdoor cooking.
These outdoor spaces make the most of the stunning surroundings and expand the home’s usable square footage.

The Cost of Tiny Living
The base model of Dragonfly Cottage began at $149,000. With customizations and upgrades, the final cost totaled $215,000. Eddie and Sonya found the process with Timbercraft Tiny Homes seamless and rewarding, and they couldn’t be happier with the result. This tiny home embodies their vision of simplicity, beauty, and functionality.

Why Choose Tiny Living?
For Eddie and Sonya, downsizing offered the freedom to focus on what truly matters—time together, enjoying nature, and creating lasting memories. Dragonfly Cottage proves that a smaller space can be a haven of comfort, style, and practicality.
