  1. If you’re into tiny homes or ADUs, check out my other channel @ADUConnection and visit ReErin.com for tips on ADUs, Tiny Homes, and small space living. Got a story about your ADU or tiny home? Click the link in the description to share it — I’d love to hear it.

  2. I have found two interesting communities that are 55+ and all park model homes (399 sq ft) where the lot is owned along with the house and you pay a monthly HOA fee to pay for the amenities like the clubhouse and activities. One is $210 and the other is $280. I don’t know much about them other than one restricts pets to a small section and both are about 2-3 hours away from where I would like to be.
Most of the 55+ communities I see have rented lots and it’s a bridge to far for me to buy a house and rent the land. I have seen so many mobile home parks where some corporation buys it and increases the rent until the tenants have to leave. The exception might be for a community to own the land and the members be shareholders because they would be unlikely to increase the rent beyond what is necessary. I learned about one like that near where I live now, but not where I want to go

  3. Liberty Tiny Village. I’m more concerned about hurricanes and/or Tornadoes. I’m a native New Yorker with a dream of owning a Tiny Home and retiring in 5 to 7 years.

  4. I still find these tiny homes to be way too expensive. I’m sorry, but when the rents are more than 3/4 s of my SS check, they’re not for a lot of seniors! They just have to do better!

  5. Can you show videos of Tiny Home Communities that are NOT in RED states? I’m a disabled senior with no school age children nor child-bearing daughters but I’ll be gosh darned if I’ll live in a state that disrespects females and disallows our medical health!! Not to mention a state taking away government agencies that help people. Finally, not everyone likes hot temps. Give me a state with snow!

  6. Is there a clause that the owner won’t sell out to Private equity aggregators which come in and Jack up rates? And please reveal rates?

  7. I hear so many negative comments about 55 plus communitys…lots of people regret moving in to thrm..😮😮

  8. Wow, I’m so thrilled to have found you! I’ve been admiring tiny homes for quite a while now, but never really knew enough about where these communities are located. I’m extremely anxious to hear about the communities across the USA! As for these 3 locations, its a tough call. I think Liberty would most likely be my 1st choice due to newer development and the amenities. But, NC/VA is really where I’d really like to retire…so then choice 1 with those amazing mountains and dark nights. Hmmmmm…well, great episode and definitely earned my thumbs up and already subscribed… you earned a new follower 😊

  9. I would love mountain living. I’m from Texas and know that it is expensive. Beautiful amenities but I”l bet expensive

  10. I lived in Acony Bell for 6 years. I was the 5th resident there and by the time I left there were 95 houses with plans for more. The first 5 years were great. Then the village got new owners. Lots rents went from $500 to $750 with no discernible improvements. Our original leases had a clause that rents would not increase more than 3% annually. The new owners removed that clause. Also the dark sky community is a fallacy as no one enforces it and lights are left on all night. There are good reasons why so many houses are for sale there now. You also have to drive a bit to get anywhere so once a retiree can no longer drive, they will be out of luck as no town or senior transportation vans service the community. You also have to listen to lawn mowing and weed whacking at least 3 days a week because they refuse to hire a professional landscaping company that would get the job done in one day. The clubhouse is nothing to speak of—very small and no full kitchen, just a sink and microwave.
