🏡 Meet Yasmeen, a 30-year-old living in a lovely, space-efficient tiny house. It’s situated on a vibrant 5-acre farm, along with her neighbors’ small cabin—part of a land sharing arrangement that offers affordable living for all, a respectful community environment, and the benefits of shared farm work. The property managers, Kelly & Matt, built a tiny house on wheels as an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) to attract a renter who would like to be a part of this nurturing, simple lifestyle. The build was a labor of love. They kept the total cost below $30k by sourcing recycled materials, doing much of the labor themselves, and trading things like produce & childcare for custom woodworking from friends. The result is a wonderfully efficient 12 m2 / 130 sqft tiny home. It’s perfect for Yasmeen, who was ready for a huge lifestyle change for a healthier, more fulfilling way of life.
