VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Three years ago, Cindy was living in Naples, Florida. After dealing with repeated hurricanes and the stress that came with condo living, Cindy began researching tiny homes as a long-term retirement solution. That search led Cindy to a welcoming tiny home community and a thoughtfully designed 399-square-foot home that completely changed her lifestyle.
In this video, Cindy shares a full tour of her tiny home and explains why downsizing later in life was the best decision she ever made. One of the most important factors for Cindy was the kitchen. Many tiny homes Cindy toured had narrow layouts, limited counter space, and small appliances. This home stood out with its U-shaped kitchen, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, large sink, and generous counter space, making it perfect for cooking and entertaining friends.
Cindy explains how having ample cabinet storage, multiple pantries, and wraparound counters allows her to cook comfortably without feeling cramped. The bar seating and swivel stools create an inviting space where guests can gather while Cindy prepares meals. After years in an 800-square-foot condo with almost no counter space, this kitchen feels functional, cozy, and easy to maintain.
The living room design also reflects Cindy’s intentional approach to downsizing. When Cindy first saw the home unfurnished, it felt intimidating. By carefully measuring and choosing the right furniture, Cindy created a warm, uncluttered space that feels much larger than its square footage. A secondhand couch, multi-purpose coffee table, and flexible seating make the space perfect for relaxing, entertaining, or enjoying quiet afternoons at home.
Cindy also shares how seasonal decorating, especially during Christmas, brings joy without overwhelming the space. Extra decorations are stored in a small outdoor shed, allowing Cindy to enjoy festive décor while keeping the home organized.
Financial freedom played a major role in Cindy’s decision to go tiny. High HOA fees, insurance costs, and utility bills made condo living stressful. Cindy breaks down the numbers behind tiny home living, including the home purchase price, monthly lot rent, and minimal ongoing expenses. With no property taxes and low annual registration costs, Cindy now has more time and money to enjoy life.
The gated community offers amenities like a pool, pickleball courts, clubhouse, and regular social events, creating a strong sense of connection that many retirees are seeking. Cindy explains how the homes feel more like cottages than trailers, challenging common misconceptions about tiny home living.
The tour also includes the hallway, hidden washer and dryer, extra storage closet, spacious bathroom with double sinks and a full-size shower, and a comfortable bedroom with ample closet space. Cindy highlights accessibility features that make the home ideal for aging in place, including easy-to-clean surfaces and thoughtful layout choices.
Outdoor living is another highlight, with both front and back porches providing space to garden, relax, and enjoy Florida’s weather. After three years, Cindy says tiny living has brought peace, freedom, and confidence.
For anyone considering downsizing, retiring in a tiny home, or simplifying life later in retirement, Cindy’s story offers practical insight, encouragement, and a real-world example of how tiny living can truly work.

This is one of the most beautiful tiny homes I’ve seen and I’ve watched countless videos.
Holey cow! could those homes be any closer? I wouldnt like to be that close to neighbors.
Wouldn’t be my choice of colours for cabinetry, etc. but overall, the layout and features of this home are awesome – love having the two entrances/exits and screened in porches would absolutely make it nice to be outside without getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Nice home, nice community, such a good combinati9n
I love this layout and I the outside space! Would definitely live here and buy this tiny house
Cute but the price and the lot rent is still expensive imo.
