VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
If you’ve ever felt trapped in the 9–5 cycle, working all week just to have one rushed day of rest before doing it all over again, this story is for you.
Senta and Eric knew the feeling all too well. They had the house, the jobs, the investments… everything they were “supposed” to work toward. But instead of fulfillment, they felt stuck. So, they made a bold choice: sell it all, build out a cargo trailer, and hit the road to live life on their own terms.
Welcome to their custom-built cargo trailer tiny home. Designed for full-time living, this off-grid setup is proof that you don’t need a big house (or big bills) to live a big life.
Inside the tour, you’ll see:
-A smart kitchen design with butcher block countertops, a flip-up extension, removable appliances, and all storage within arm’s reach.
-A multifunctional living/bedroom space with a king-size bed (and room for their Rottweiler, Tinkerbell), a pull-out table, snack storage, and even a guest bed option.
-Clever solutions like a hidden laundry chute, a diesel heater, and a residential mini-split AC powered by solar.
-Bathroom creativity—a custom shower pan lined with real tile, a composting toilet, and efficient storage for gear and daily needs.
-Massive off-grid capability: 800 amp hours of lithium batteries, 990 watts of solar, and a full inverter system so they can stay unplugged almost indefinitely.
-Outdoor living made simple with a ramp door that doubles as a patio and bike garage.
Cost to make this dream a reality? Just about $30–33K total, including the trailer, build, and upgrades. Paid off, no mortgage, and a lifestyle that allows them to live comfortably on a single income.
For Senta and Eric, going tiny wasn’t just about saving money, it was about breaking free from the rat race and reclaiming their time, freedom, and happiness. Now every day is an adventure, whether that’s boondocking in the wild, cooking meals together on the road, or waking up to mountain views right outside their door.
If you’ve ever dreamed about downsizing to live life differently, this tour will give you inspiration, practical ideas, and maybe even the nudge you need to start your own journey.

Your biggest living expenses will be insurance. Car insurance and health insurance. How much did you spend on batteries?
I didn’t catch the size of your trailer.
Did she just say that national parks are not dog friendly? Huh
I cannot for the life of me place her accent. It’s like a mix of Minnesota Amish and Deutsch
