VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Laryssa and her dad set out to build a dream and ended up creating a beautiful 30’ x 12’ tiny home filled with functionality, warmth, and family memories. In this full tour, you’ll see how they designed and built a home that proves downsizing doesn’t mean sacrificing comfort.

Inside this Tiny Home Tour:
-Open Living Room & Dining Space – Complete with a pull-out couch for guests, wood-burning stove, and heirloom artwork.
-Full Kitchen with Triangle Design – Propane stove, deep sink, custom cabinets, and clever storage solutions that make cooking seamless.
-Full Bathroom – Large walk-in shower, washer/dryer, recessed shelving, and smart storage for everyday life.
-Spacious Loft Bedroom – With standing room, skylight, storage under the bed, and heirloom quilt made by Laryssa’s grandmother.
-Exterior Design – Tin siding, dual rooflines, under-stair storage, and plans for solar integration.

Why This Tiny House Stands Out:
-Built for $50–60k using a mix of savings, reclaimed materials, and smart planning.
-Designed for independence, affordability, and long-term living.
-Reflects the growing movement of families and individuals downsizing to live debt-free and closer to nature.
-Heating and cooling powered by a MrCool Mini Split – DIY-friendly, energy-efficient, and affordable.

The Journey:
Laryssa started this project with the goal of affordable living and freedom from rising rent. With her dad’s construction background, they worked side-by-side—welding beams, sourcing deals on Facebook Marketplace, and customizing every feature to fit her lifestyle. The result is a home that cost far less than traditional housing and provides a lifetime of security and memories.

Why Downsizing Works:
-Lower monthly expenses compared to traditional housing.
-Ability to live simply without giving up modern conveniences.
-Flexibility to move and relocate when life changes.
-A practical solution for those nearing retirement, navigating rising rents, or seeking financial freedom.

If you’re considering downsizing, living debt-free, or designing a home that truly reflects your values, this tour will show you what’s possible.

  1. The toe kick drawers are good for long term paper storage or for cookie sheets etc, only used a few times a year.❤

  2. Absolutely stunning – the one and only thing I would change would be to add some rails to that loft – With my luck I’d roll right out of bed and land in the kitchen lol
